Job Description

Join AECOM as an Entry Level Mitigation Monitor and kickstart your career in environmental services and infrastructure. In this immediate hire role, you will be crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and mitigation measures on various projects across California. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in site monitoring, data collection, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site monitoring to ensure compliance with project-specific environmental mitigation measures and regulatory requirements.
  • Document field observations, including photographic logs, daily activity reports, and incident reports.
  • Collect and manage environmental data, including sampling, measurements, and other relevant information.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, construction crews, and regulatory agencies regarding mitigation progress and challenges.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and environmental assessments.
  • Identify potential environmental impacts and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in environmental monitoring.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while in the field and office.

Required Skills

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., NEPA, CEQA).
  • Experience with GPS units or basic GIS software.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in field work or environmental data collection.
