Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Acoustic Ceiling Tile Remover and Demolition Laborer to join our dynamic team in Savannah, GA. This role involves the safe and efficient removal of acoustic ceiling tiles and general demolition tasks on various construction and renovation sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing work areas, dismantling structures, and ensuring the proper disposal of materials while adhering to all safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently remove acoustic ceiling tiles from commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Perform general demolition tasks, including interior strip-outs, debris removal, and site cleanup.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively for demolition purposes.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks as needed on demolition sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper segregation and disposal of waste materials.
  • Participate in pre-shift safety briefings and identify potential hazards.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on schedule.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments (dusty, noisy, etc.).
  • Punctuality and a commitment to working scheduled hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in demolition, construction, or a related labor-intensive field.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience operating small machinery (e.g., skid steers, forklifts) is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
