Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Shopify Business Analyst to join our growing e-commerce team in Halifax. This role is crucial for optimizing our online store performance, driving customer engagement, and maximizing sales through data-driven insights. You will be instrumental in analyzing Shopify data, identifying trends, recommending strategic improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features and functionalities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, e-commerce best practices, and a passion for turning data into actionable strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Shopify data, including sales, conversion rates, customer behavior, and product performance.
- Identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges within our e-commerce operations.
- Develop and present actionable insights and recommendations to optimize the Shopify store experience and drive business growth.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and development teams to define requirements for new features and improvements on Shopify.
- Monitor and report on the performance of e-commerce initiatives, A/B tests, and strategic changes.
- Assist in managing and configuring Shopify platform settings, apps, and integrations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, e-commerce trends, and competitor strategies.
- Create detailed reports and dashboards to visualize e-commerce performance metrics for stakeholders.
- Participate in strategic planning for future e-commerce roadmap development.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within an e-commerce environment.
- Proven expertise with the Shopify platform (Shopify Plus preferred) and its analytics capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Tableau).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce KPIs, SEO, SEM, and digital marketing principles.
- Experience with A/B testing methodologies and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms or PIM systems.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
- Knowledge of basic HTML/CSS for front-end understanding.
- Certification in Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms.
