Job Description

Join Apria Healthcare as a Medical Oxygen Driver, an essential service role vital to our community! You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery, setup, and maintenance of medical oxygen equipment to patients’ homes. This position requires a compassionate individual with a strong commitment to patient care and safety, ensuring that our patients receive the critical support they need. You will operate company vehicles, maintain accurate delivery records, and provide basic patient instruction on equipment use. This is a stable, full-time opportunity within an essential service industry, offering consistent work and direct impact on patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up medical oxygen equipment to patient residences and healthcare facilities.
  • Install and set up medical oxygen equipment in patient homes, ensuring proper functionality and safety according to company guidelines.
  • Provide basic instructions and demonstrations to patients and caregivers on the safe and proper use of oxygen equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, equipment serial numbers, and patient signatures.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Handle oxygen tanks and related supplies, which may involve lifting and carrying heavy items.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, caregivers, and internal staff.
  • Respond to urgent delivery requests as needed to ensure continuous patient care.

Required Skills

  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) regularly.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all driving and operational procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a delivery route efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a delivery, logistics, or medical equipment role.
  • Familiarity with medical oxygen equipment and patient care.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and minor troubleshooting.
