Job Description
As an Inventory Specialist at Amazon’s Tech Industry Warehouse in Philadelphia, you will be a vital part of our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing storage, and ensuring the efficient flow of tech products through our facility. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will play a key role in preventing stock discrepancies, supporting picking and packing processes, and contributing to overall operational excellence, directly impacting our ability to serve customers with the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inbound and outbound inventory movements, including receiving, put-away, and transfers.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization and organization for tech products.
- Collaborate with warehouse management and other departments to streamline inventory processes.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and movements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems (WMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with barcode scanning and RFID technology.
- Certification in material handling equipment operation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in a tech-focused warehouse or e-commerce fulfillment center.
