Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our farm team as Live-in Vegetable Pickers. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Guildford, Surrey, offering stable employment and the significant benefit of low-rent housing directly on our farm estate. You will be responsible for harvesting a variety of fresh vegetables, ensuring quality standards are met, and contributing to the smooth operation of our farm. No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully harvest a wide range of vegetables by hand or using basic tools, following specific instructions for each crop.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, identifying and discarding any damaged or unsuitable produce.
- Pack harvested vegetables into crates or containers, ensuring they are ready for transport.
- Assist with other general farm duties as required, including planting, weeding, and farm maintenance.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily picking targets.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines and food hygiene standards.
- Report any issues with crops, equipment, or safety concerns to the farm supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, farming, or a similar outdoor physical role.
- Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and team communication.
- Full UK driving license (desirable but not essential for the role).
