Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Delivery Van Unloader to join our dynamic team for morning shifts at our Brimsdown warehouse dock in Enfield. This entry-level role is vital to our operations, involving the manual unloading of packages and freight from delivery vans, ensuring accurate sorting, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manually unload a variety of packages and freight from delivery vans and trucks arriving at the warehouse dock.
- Efficiently sort and stage incoming goods according to designated routes, product categories, or storage areas.
- Verify the quantity and condition of received items against manifests or shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks to move goods within the dock area (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report any damaged goods, discrepancies, or safety hazards to the team lead or supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of goods.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong physical stamina, endurance, and manual dexterity.
- High level of reliability and punctuality for morning shifts.
- Attention to detail for sorting, counting, and verifying items.
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety guidelines.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor role.
- Familiarity with manual handling techniques and best practices.
- Experience operating basic warehouse equipment like pallet jacks.
