Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Well Service Aide to join our dynamic team in Chula Vista, CA. You will receive comprehensive, on-the-job training in various critical aspects of well service, including the installation, maintenance, sampling, and decommissioning of environmental and geotechnical monitoring wells. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians and engineers with the installation, development, purging, and sampling of groundwater and soil vapor monitoring wells.
  • Learn and perform basic well maintenance tasks, including pump removal and installation, and wellhead repairs under direct supervision.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment such as pumps, generators, hand tools, and other specialized apparatus safely and effectively.
  • Prepare, organize, and inventory field equipment and supplies necessary for daily operations and project execution.
  • Accurately document all field activities, including site conditions, measurements, sample collection details, and observations.
  • Adhere strictly to all company, client, and regulatory safety protocols and procedures, actively participating in safety briefings.
  • Transport equipment and personnel to various job sites in company vehicles, maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Assist with site cleanup and demobilization upon project completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project objectives and team success.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, bending, and working in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced professionals.
  • Basic communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a general labor, construction, landscaping, or other outdoor work environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry, email, and simple documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a team.
