Job Description
CN Rail is seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Train Freight Unloader at our bustling Hamilton railway depot. This is a crucial, hands-on role involving the safe and efficient unloading of various goods from freight cars. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently unload various types of freight from train cars, including bulk materials, palletized goods, and other commodities.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (training provided if needed).
- Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion of unloading tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the railway depot.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, bending, standing).
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or industrial environment.
