Job Description
Join Indigo Books & Music as a Seasonal Textbook Packer! We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to support our high-demand educational season. This temporary role is crucial for ensuring textbooks and other learning materials are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for shipment to schools, universities, and individual customers. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve textbooks and educational materials from warehouse shelves based on order sheets.
- Carefully pack items into boxes, ensuring proper cushioning and protection to prevent damage during transit.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information and prepare them for dispatch.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization of stock as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily packing and shipping targets.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counting items.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, packing, or retail environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
