Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Modern Skirting Gluer with a strong focus on clean home finishes to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest quality in our home renovation and installation projects, specifically concerning skirting and trim work. The ideal candidate will possess an keen eye for detail, precision in measurement and application, and a commitment to delivering flawless results that enhance the aesthetic and finish of residential interiors. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, accurately cutting and fitting skirting boards, and applying adhesives to create seamless and durable installations. Experience with various materials and a passion for achieving immaculate finishes are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and cut skirting boards and trim accurately to fit various room dimensions and angles.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and ensuring they are ready for adhesive application.
- Apply appropriate adhesives evenly and securely to attach skirting boards, ensuring strong bonds and clean lines.
- Ensure all installations are level, flush, and free from gaps, imperfections, or excess adhesive.
- Perform finishing touches, including minor sanding or touch-ups, to achieve a professional and clean appearance.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, making any necessary adjustments to meet company standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition and ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, project managers, and clients to ensure project success.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in skirting board and trim installation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools, saws (mitre saw, jigsaw), and other relevant hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of different adhesive types and application techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to varying project challenges.
- Physical dexterity and ability to perform tasks requiring kneeling, bending, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a carpentry or finish carpentry apprenticeship/program.
- Valid G-class driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with a variety of skirting materials, including MDF, wood, and composite.
- Knowledge of other interior finishing elements is a plus.
- Customer service experience in a trade or home renovation setting.
