Job Description
State Farm is seeking a dedicated and highly efficient Insurance Claims Transcriber to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote, work-from-home position. In this high-volume role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing recorded statements, interviews, and other audio materials related to insurance claims. Your meticulous attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure will be crucial in supporting our claims adjusters and ensuring timely processing of critical information. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings of insurance claims-related materials, including witness statements, claimant interviews, and legal proceedings, with high accuracy and speed.
- Ensure all transcriptions adhere to strict company guidelines and legal requirements for formatting and content.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for grammatical errors, punctuation, and clarity before submission.
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of transcription assignments to meet tight deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive claim information and personal data.
- Utilize transcription software and other relevant tools efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding assignment status and any issues encountered.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a transcriber, preferably in a legal or insurance environment.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 70 WPM with high accuracy).
- Superior listening skills and the ability to discern spoken words clearly, including accents and varying audio quality.
- Proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a high-volume setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity in handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and claims processes.
- Experience with specific transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, FTR Gold).
- Certification in transcription or related field.
