Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shopify Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our global e-commerce operations, which are primarily powered by the Shopify platform. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks specific to Shopify, ensuring the secure configuration and continuous monitoring of our online storefronts and associated integrations. This position requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of e-commerce security best practices, PCI DSS compliance, and a passion for protecting sensitive customer data.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans of our Shopify stores and integrated applications.
- Monitor security logs and alerts from Shopify and related systems, responding to and investigating security incidents promptly.
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures tailored for the Shopify ecosystem.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the Shopify development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, PIPEDA) within the Shopify environment.
- Manage and maintain security tools and technologies specific to e-commerce and Shopify.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal teams on Shopify-specific threats and safe practices.
- Stay current with the latest Shopify security features, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend appropriate security controls to protect our e-commerce assets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Shopify platform security and administration.
- Strong understanding of web application security principles, including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of incident response procedures and forensic analysis.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and PIPEDA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CSSLP).
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) as it relates to Shopify integrations.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Prior experience in a retail or e-commerce environment.
