Job Description

Are you a meticulous wordsmith with a passion for engineering and a knack for clarity? Honeywell is seeking a dedicated Engineering Documentation Scribe to join our team, working 100% remotely. In this critical role, you will transform complex technical information into accessible, accurate, and comprehensive documentation that supports our cutting-edge engineering projects. As an Engineering Documentation Scribe, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and consistency of our technical manuals, specifications, and reports. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant advancements in aerospace and industrial technology from the comfort of your home office, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and subject matter experts across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, specifications, and reports for engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather information, clarify technical concepts, and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect product enhancements, design changes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to established company standards, style guides, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage document versions, organize content, and maintain documentation libraries.
  • Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance processes for technical documents.
  • Proactively identify areas for documentation improvement and implement solutions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in technical writing, documentation, or a similar role within an engineering or technical environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly language.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, SharePoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering concepts, terminology, and product lifecycle development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) or component content management systems (CCMS).
  • Understanding of DITA, XML, or other structured authoring methodologies.
  • Previous experience working in the aerospace, defense, or industrial automation sectors.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
