Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Part-Time High School Gym Attendant to join our team in Henderson, Nevada. This vital role involves maintaining a safe, clean, and organized gymnasium environment for students, faculty, and community members. As a Gym Attendant, you will support athletic programs, monitor equipment, and ensure a positive and respectful atmosphere during all gym activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to student wellness and school spirit, and comes with the added benefit of a free gym membership to district facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor gymnasium activities to ensure adherence to safety rules and school policies.
- Assist in setting up and taking down equipment for various sports and events.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of gym equipment and facilities.
- Monitor inventory of sports equipment and report any damage or need for replacement.
- Provide basic assistance and direction to students, staff, and visitors regarding gym usage.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, fostering a positive environment.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions to appropriate staff.
- Ensure gym areas are secure and locked after use.
Required Skills
- Ability to enforce rules and maintain order effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of sports equipment and gym safety.
- Ability to perform light physical duties, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a school, recreational, or gym setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion for sports, fitness, or youth development.
