Job Description
As a Quick Service Drink Specialist – Espresso & Cold Brew at Starbucks in Finnieston, Glasgow, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for crafting high-quality espresso and cold brew beverages with speed and precision. You will interact directly with customers, take orders accurately, and ensure every drink meets Starbucks’ renowned standards. This role requires a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. You will contribute to a positive atmosphere, helping to create memorable experiences for our valued patrons.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of espresso, cold brew, and other coffee beverages according to Starbucks' recipes and quality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately and efficiently, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately handle cash and card transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, monitoring supply levels, and receiving deliveries.
- Educate customers on menu items, coffee blends, and current promotions.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail in drink preparation and order fulfilment.
- Reliable team player with a positive and energetic attitude.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing change.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a quick service restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of various coffee brewing techniques and espresso machine operation.
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- A genuine passion for coffee and creating memorable customer experiences.
