Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in optimal working condition.
- Secure cargo properly, verifying load distribution and weight compliance.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and submit all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Adhere to scheduled delivery times and communicate any delays or issues promptly.
- Represent Knight-Swift Transportation professionally at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) or the ability to obtain one quickly through our fast-track program.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Strong work ethic and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military service with relevant driving or logistical experience.
- HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- Previous over-the-road (OTR) trucking experience.
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and dispatch software.
