Job Description

Join the Electronic Arts team as an EA Sports Community Moderator with a specific focus on Safe Gaming. In this vital role, you will be on the front lines of fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for players within our EA Sports communities. You will be responsible for actively monitoring online discussions, enforcing community guidelines, and implementing proactive measures to prevent and address harmful behavior, harassment, and toxicity. This position requires a deep understanding of online community dynamics, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to player well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor EA Sports game forums, social media channels, and in-game chat for violations of community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Moderate user-generated content to ensure it aligns with safe gaming policies and promotes a positive player experience.
  • Investigate and respond to player reports of abusive behavior, harassment, or other policy infringements, taking appropriate action as per established protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and empatively with community members, providing guidance on safe gaming practices and explaining moderation decisions.
  • Collaborate with community managers, customer service, and development teams to identify emerging trends in player behavior and contribute to policy improvements.
  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of educational content regarding safe gaming, online etiquette, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and escalate complex cases to senior staff when necessary.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation tools and processes.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices for online safety and community management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in online community moderation, customer support, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of online safety principles and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to de-escalate conflicts.
  • Proficiency in identifying and addressing various forms of online harassment, toxicity, and inappropriate content.
  • Familiarity with EA Sports titles and their respective communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of empathy and discretion when handling sensitive player issues.
  • Technical proficiency with moderation tools and social media platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale online communities or gaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of global online safety regulations and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, COPPA).
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Experience in crisis management or conflict resolution.
