Job Description
Join Coram CVS Specialty Infusion Services as a Home Infusion Technician, where you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients in their homes. This mobile position requires travel within the Pasco region, delivering and managing infusion supplies, and preparing custom sterile admixtures. You will be an essential part of a patient-focused team, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of critical therapies while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile admixtures and other medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Manage inventory of infusion supplies, including ordering, stocking, and organizing, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Deliver medications and supplies directly to patient homes or alternate care sites within the designated geographic area.
- Provide patient education on the proper storage and handling of infusion supplies and basic troubleshooting guidance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication preparation, delivery, and patient interactions.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, including USP <797> and <800> standards, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, patients, and other healthcare team members.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in compounding and patient care.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Safely operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) national certification.
- Current state Pharmacy Technician license/registration, if required by state law.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sterile compounding pharmacy setting (hospital, home infusion, or specialty).
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a home infusion setting.
- Knowledge of various infusion pumps and delivery devices.
- Experience with pharmacy information systems and inventory management software.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
