Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join our team as a FedEx Freight Professional. This high-demand role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our freight services. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to freight handling, logistics coordination, and customer interaction, all while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate freight shipments, including loading, unloading, and staging.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all freight movements.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the freight terminal.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics, warehouse, or freight handling environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required by the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating material handling equipment with valid certification (e.g., forklift certification).
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and freight industry standards.
- Prior experience with FedEx Freight or other major logistics providers.
- Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
