Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our General Medical Floor team in New Orleans, LA. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care, manage complex medical cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical information, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions when necessary.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and revise patient care goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and patient care technicians as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting or on a general medical floor.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and advanced assessment skills.
