Job Description
Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a dedicated and energetic Plasterer Offsider to join our dynamic team in Brampton, Ontario. This is a full-time, fast-paced position operating Monday to Friday, providing essential support to our skilled plasterers. As an Offsider, you will be crucial in ensuring that our projects run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the high-quality finish of our construction sites. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled plasterers with all aspects of plastering work.
- Prepare work areas, including setting up scaffolding and protecting surrounding surfaces.
- Mix plaster, compounds, and other materials to the correct consistency.
- Load and unload materials and tools, ensuring they are organized and accessible.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping, tidying, and waste disposal.
- Transport materials around the job site as required.
- Clean tools and equipment after use.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned to support the project team.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or labourer role.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of various plastering techniques and materials.
- Current safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights).
