Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HPLC Chemist – Chromatography Specialist to join our analytical laboratory team in Wichita, KS. This role is critical for the development, validation, and execution of complex chromatographic methods. The successful candidate will be responsible for precise sample analysis, instrument troubleshooting, and data interpretation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance. This position offers top hourly rates for an experienced professional passionate about chromatography and analytical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate HPLC and UPLC methods for various sample matrices in accordance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, GLP).
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of samples using HPLC, UPLC, GC, and other chromatographic techniques.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of analytical instrumentation, including Agilent, Waters, and Shimadzu systems.
- Interpret complex chromatographic data, identify unknown peaks, and report results accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all analytical work is documented meticulously following internal SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and laboratory investigations.
- Mentor junior chemists and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with HPLC and UPLC system operation and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in chromatographic software (e.g., Empower, ChemStation, Chromeleon).
- Strong understanding of cGMP, GLP, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in analytical method development and validation.
- Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- Experience with Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS or GC-MS) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a contract research organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical testing laboratory.
- Familiarity with various sample preparation techniques (e.g., SPE, LLE).
