Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Order Picker Forklift Driver for a combined role within our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Westminster, London. This critical position requires an individual who is not only proficient in operating various forklift types, including counterbalance and reach trucks, but also excels in meticulous order picking, inventory management, and general warehouse duties. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced logistics operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment according to picking lists and customer requirements.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and documentation of goods.
- Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance, reporting any faults or issues immediately.
- Conduct inventory counts and stock rotation, ensuring accuracy and proper storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including manual handling and housekeeping.
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to achieve daily operational targets.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR) for counterbalance and/or reach truck.
- Proven experience as a forklift driver and order picker in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., PPT, VNA).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot minor issues.
