Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Data Scientist specializing in AI and Machine Learning to join our innovative team in Darlington. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Perform extensive data analysis, feature engineering, and data visualization to uncover insights and prepare data for modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to integrate AI/ML solutions into production systems.
- Evaluate and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of AI/ML models.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science, and apply new techniques where appropriate.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning) and their practical applications.
- Experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and feature engineering from various data sources.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling and experimental design.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to work with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for deploying and managing ML models.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools.
- Experience in specific domains such as finance, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision techniques.
