Job Description
Join Target’s dedicated logistics team as an Inventory Shuttle Driver, focusing on short-haul warehouse runs within the Burbank area. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of inventory and materials between our local distribution centers and store support facilities. This position is ideal for a meticulous and reliable driver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining supply chain continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial shuttle vehicle (e.g., box truck, cargo van) for short-haul routes between designated Target facilities.
- Load and unload inventory, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify manifests and delivery schedules, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, maintaining cleanliness and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and store teams regarding pickups and deliveries.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including organizing inventory or staging products for shipment.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience, preferably in a shuttle or delivery capacity.
- Ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of local traffic laws and routes in the Burbank area.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles (e.g., box trucks, cargo vans).
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
- Previous experience working for a large retail or logistics company.
- Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
