Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible way to earn money on your own schedule? SkipTheDishes is seeking motivated and reliable Delivery Riders to join our network in St. John’s. As an independent contractor, you’ll use your own scooter or bike to pick up orders from local restaurants and deliver them directly to hungry customers. Enjoy the freedom of setting your own hours and earning competitive weekly pay for every successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up food orders from various partner restaurants efficiently and courteously.
- Deliver orders promptly and safely to customers' specified locations.
- Ensure food quality and presentation are maintained during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing SkipTheDishes positively.
- Navigate St. John's city streets using a smartphone app to optimize delivery routes.
- Manage time effectively to complete multiple deliveries within designated windows.
- Maintain a clean and roadworthy scooter or bike.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Must own a reliable scooter or bike and associated safety equipment.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable for scooter) or provincial ID.
- Valid vehicle registration and insurance (if applicable for scooter).
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
- A smartphone with data plan (iOS or Android) to run the SkipTheDishes courier app.
- Ability to read maps and navigate effectively within St. John's.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused attitude and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry delivery bags (up to 20 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food delivery or courier services.
- Familiarity with St. John's and surrounding areas.
- Access to insulated delivery bags.
