Job Description
Join Maple Leaf Foods as an Industrial Packer! We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented individuals to play a crucial role in our production and distribution efforts in Kanata. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, offering a top hourly rate for dedicated team members. You will be responsible for accurately and efficiently packing various food products, ensuring they meet our stringent quality and safety standards before shipment. This is an on-site role that requires physical stamina and a commitment to teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently pack finished food products into designated containers, boxes, or crates.
- Verify product quantities, ensuring correct labeling and packaging for shipment.
- Inspect products for quality defects and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Operate basic packaging machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet production targets.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food safety and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or food production environment.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
