Job Description
Join CVS Caremark as a Mail Order Pharmacy Technician and become an essential part of our high-volume, fast-paced mail order pharmacy operations. In this critical role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of prescription medications to our members across the nation. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a production-focused environment where efficiency and patient safety are paramount. All work is conducted indoors within our state-of-the-art facility, focusing on precision and speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and process prescription orders in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Perform accurate data entry of patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Prepare and package medications for shipment, ensuring correct labeling and packaging standards are met.
- Maintain inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and troubleshoot minor issues as needed.
- Adhere to strict quality control and patient safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other team members to ensure seamless workflow.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls to resolve issues related to prescription orders or shipping as required.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and enhance pharmacy technician skills.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or willing to obtain within a specified timeframe
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a mail order or high-volume retail setting
- Experience with pharmacy management software systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
