Job Description

Join Nuffield Health as a Casual Gym Childcare Attendant and play a vital role in supporting our members’ wellbeing journey. In this flexible, part-time position, you will create a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children while their parents enjoy our fitness facilities. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about childcare, seeking flexible hours, and eager to be part of a community-focused health organisation. You will ensure children are supervised, engaged in age-appropriate activities, and feel comfortable and happy during their time with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive supervision to children in the gym's crèche or childcare area.
  • Organise and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's wellbeing and activities.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Assist with the daily setup and pack down of the childcare area.
  • Address minor first aid needs and report any incidents or concerns to management promptly.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience working with children (e.g., in a nursery, crèche, school, or similar setting).
  • Ability to engage and interact positively with children of various ages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
  • Current First Aid and/or Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a background check/DBS clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in a fitness centre childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of child development stages and appropriate activities.
