Job Description
Join the PetSmart team as a Cattery Attendant and play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our feline guests. This position is perfect for dedicated animal lovers seeking flexible, casual shifts to fit their schedule. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and stimulating environment for cats, providing feeding and medication (as needed), and engaging with the animals to ensure their physical and emotional needs are met. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for cats, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as instructed.
- Clean and sanitize cat enclosures, litter boxes, and common areas thoroughly and regularly.
- Monitor the health and behavior of all cats, reporting any concerns or changes to management immediately.
- Engage with cats through play, petting, and grooming to ensure their social and emotional well-being.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies regarding animal handling and facility maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal observations.
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs of feline guests, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for pet parents.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated passion for animal welfare and a love for cats.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for reporting animal conditions.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting (e.g., shelter, vet clinic, boarding facility).
- Knowledge of cat behavior and common feline health issues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
