Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Hospital Front Desk professional to join our team at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. This vital role is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and medical staff, setting the tone for their experience. You will manage patient check-ins, direct inquiries, schedule appointments, and perform various administrative tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment. Given our commitment to patient care, this position requires availability for a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring continuous support for our operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting co-payments.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and take messages accurately.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, admissions, and discharges.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with patient inquiries, provide directions, and resolve minor issues.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing mail.
  • Monitor waiting areas and ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Prepare daily reports and reconcile cash payments as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and strong computer literacy.
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
  • Professional demeanor and a strong commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Certification in Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) or similar.
