Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Sound Designer to join our dynamic audio team. This role focuses on crafting immersive audio experiences for our video game titles and related media projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of audio principles, a passion for interactive entertainment, and a proven ability to translate creative vision into compelling sonic landscapes. You will be instrumental in all stages of audio production, from conceptualization and asset creation to implementation and final mix, ensuring our projects resonate deeply with players.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and create original sound effects, ambient audio, and foley for various in-game events, environments, and character actions.
  • Implement audio assets into game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) using middleware solutions (e.g., Wwise, FMOD).
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to integrate sound effectively and enhance gameplay.
  • Perform audio mixing, mastering, and optimization to ensure high-quality and consistent soundscapes across all platforms.
  • Contribute to the overall sonic identity and emotional impact of projects.
  • Participate in feedback sessions and iterate on designs based on internal and external playtesting.
  • Maintain audio asset pipelines and ensure efficient workflow practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, or Reaper.
  • Strong understanding of audio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering techniques.
  • Experience with audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) and their integration into game engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality, impactful sound effects and immersive ambient soundscapes.
  • Familiarity with game development pipelines and collaborative workflows.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Music Production, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Sound Designer in the video game or interactive media industry.
  • Experience with field recording and microphone techniques.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Lua, C#) for audio implementation.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of sound design work for interactive experiences.
