Job Description
Are you a culinary enthusiast with a keen eye for detail and a knack for understanding human emotion through text? Yelp is seeking a dedicated Dining Review Sentiment Analyst to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will delve into thousands of dining reviews, meticulously analyzing customer feedback to categorize sentiment and identify key trends. This is a unique opportunity for a ‘foodie’ to turn their passion into a career, contributing to the quality and reliability of Yelp’s extensive review database. You will help us understand what makes dining experiences exceptional or challenging, ultimately informing product improvements and business insights. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and accurately categorize sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) within dining reviews submitted to the Yelp platform.
- Identify and tag specific aspects of dining experiences mentioned in reviews, such as food quality, service, ambiance, price, and cleanliness.
- Recognize nuances in language, sarcasm, and cultural references to ensure precise sentiment classification.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of sentiment analysis guidelines and taxonomies.
- Collaborate with data science and product teams to provide insights into emerging trends and user feedback patterns.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and consistency across all analyzed reviews.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions conducted remotely.
