Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Corporate Event AV Setup Crew in Chicago. This role is perfect for those who enjoy dynamic work environments, have an interest in audiovisual technology, and are comfortable with travel within the Chicago metropolitan area to various hotels and conference venues. As an AV Setup Crew member, you will be responsible for the physical setup, operation, and teardown of audiovisual equipment, ensuring seamless execution of corporate events. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, unload, and set up a variety of audiovisual equipment including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, lighting, and video systems.
- Perform basic connectivity and functionality checks of AV equipment prior to events.
- Assist senior technicians with the operation of AV equipment during live events as needed.
- Disassemble, pack, and load AV equipment efficiently and safely after events.
- Maintain inventory and ensure all equipment is accounted for and in good working condition.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues on-site and escalate complex problems to senior staff.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while on job sites.
- Represent Encore Global professionally and courteously to clients and venue staff.
- Travel within Chicago to various hotel ballrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of audiovisual equipment and principles.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different event sites in Chicago.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a live event, hospitality, or production environment.
- Technical degree or certification in audiovisual technology, electronics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with common AV brands and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Shure).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
