Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Dispatcher to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of packages and freight, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to a critical part of our operations. You will communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues, optimize routes, and maintain high standards of service. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and dispatch daily delivery and pickup routes for drivers.
- Monitor real-time progress of deliveries and pickups, making adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding schedules, route changes, and any issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving delivery-related concerns.
- Utilize dispatching software and GPS systems to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Document all communications and actions taken in the dispatch log.
- Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Prepare daily reports on delivery statuses and driver performance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics coordination role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong geographical knowledge and ability to read maps.
- Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with Purolator's specific dispatching systems.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations in British Columbia and Canada.
