Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Formulation Chemist with a keen interest in cosmetics and skincare to join our R&D team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow within the beauty industry. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working alongside experienced chemists to develop, test, and refine innovative cosmetic and skincare formulations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research, development, and optimization of new and existing cosmetic and skincare formulations under guidance.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, prepare batches, and perform stability testing on raw materials and finished products.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring cleanliness and calibration.
- Record detailed observations, compile data, and assist in the analysis of experimental results.
- Collaborate with senior chemists and cross-functional teams (e.g., product development, quality control, manufacturing).
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety protocols in the laboratory.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new raw materials, and scientific advancements in cosmetic chemistry.
- Support scale-up activities and troubleshoot formulation issues as needed.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry principles.
- Hands-on experience with general laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or academic project experience in cosmetic, personal care, or pharmaceutical formulation.
- Knowledge of raw materials commonly used in cosmetic or skincare products.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for cosmetic products (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetic Regulation).
