Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Wooden Shed & Cabin Assembler to join our team in Missoula, MT. This role involves the manual assembly of prefabricated wooden components for sheds, cabins, and other outdoor structures on customer sites or within our assembly yard. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with outdoor work in various weather conditions, possess strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering high-quality finished products. This is a hands-on position requiring the use of power tools, hand tools, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble wooden sheds, cabins, and other outdoor structures according to blueprints and specifications.
- Utilize various power tools (drills, saws, nail guns) and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform precise measurements and cuts to ensure accurate component fitting.
- Install roofing materials, siding, doors, windows, and other accessories.
- Load and unload materials, maintaining an organized and safe work area.
- Conduct quality checks on assembled structures to ensure stability and adherence to standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and challenges.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and light rain.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools (drills, saws, hammers).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions or blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75 lbs).
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to the job site.
- Basic understanding of carpentry or construction principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in carpentry, construction, or assembly work (especially outdoor structures).
- Familiarity with different types of wood and construction materials.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license.
