Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Wholesale Order Picker with a focus on bulk goods to join our Aurora distribution center team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders, primarily involving large and heavy bulk items, ensuring they are prepared for shipment according to company standards. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment as needed. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the flow of our operations and ensuring our customers receive their orders promptly and correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick bulk goods and other items from warehouse shelves based on order sheets or voice commands.
- Verify product descriptions, quantities, and lot numbers to ensure order accuracy.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently to move products.
- Stack and organize products onto pallets, ensuring stability and adherence to loading procedures.
- Perform quality checks on picked items for damage or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding order status or issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs consistently) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills and ability to read and understand order documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, distribution, or order picking role, especially with bulk goods.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Certification to operate powered industrial trucks.
