Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Wellness Screening Nurse to join our corporate events team in Kansas City, MO. In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in conducting various health screenings, providing basic health education, and promoting wellness at corporate events, health fairs, and community outreach programs. This position requires a nurse who thrives in interactive environments, possesses excellent communication skills, and is passionate about preventative health and community engagement. You will be a front-line ambassador for AdventHealth’s commitment to holistic well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various health screenings including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and body composition analysis at corporate wellness events.
- Administer flu shots and other immunizations as needed, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide clear, concise, and compassionate health education to participants regarding their screening results and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and meticulous records of all screening data and participant information.
- Efficiently operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot screening equipment on-site.
- Collaborate effectively with event coordinators, marketing teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and successful event execution.
- Actively promote AdventHealth's wellness programs, services, and commitment to community health to event attendees.
- Adhere strictly to all professional nursing standards, AdventHealth policies, and local/federal regulations.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or community setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering health screenings and immunizations
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment
- Strong organizational skills and an impeccable attention to detail
- Comfort and enthusiasm for working in dynamic, high-energy event environments that require flexibility and adaptability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community health, corporate wellness, occupational health, or public health nursing
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) to better serve diverse communities
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Certification in a wellness-related field
