Job Description

Are you passionate about healthcare and looking for an entry point into the dental field? Park Dental is offering a unique Weekend Dental Assistant (Entry) – Part-time Training opportunity in our Minneapolis clinic. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience who are eager to learn and grow within a professional dental setting. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training to develop the essential skills required to support our dentists and provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring efficient and comfortable patient experiences.
  • Prepare treatment rooms before patient arrival and ensure all necessary instruments and materials are ready.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and company protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
  • Accurately take and process dental X-rays after appropriate training and certification.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, such as updating patient records and scheduling follow-up appointments, as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Exceptional willingness and eagerness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient empathy.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency for charting and scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Previous customer service or patient interaction experience.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology is a plus, but not required.
