Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Route Driver in the vibrant New Port Richey area. This role offers reliable, ongoing work with a clear path for growth for dedicated individuals. As a UPS Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and pick-up of packages, playing a crucial role in connecting our customers with their essential shipments. We are looking for individuals who are committed to safety, customer service, and efficient route management within a local suburban setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a UPS package delivery vehicle in various weather conditions and traffic situations.
- Efficiently deliver and pick up packages to and from residential and commercial customers along a prescribed route.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pick-ups using a handheld device.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving laws and UPS safety protocols.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are delivered undamaged.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past 3 years).
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull skids up to 1500 lbs. with a pallet jack.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the New Port Richey and surrounding Pasco County areas.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
