Job Description
Are you an Excel expert with a passion for teaching? Chegg is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Online Excel Tutors to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work from home, set your own flexible hours, and make a real difference in students’ academic journeys. As an Online Excel Tutor, you will provide personalized, one-on-one assistance to students struggling with various Excel concepts, from basic formulas to advanced data analysis. We are looking for individuals who can clearly explain complex topics, adapt their teaching style to individual student needs, and foster a supportive learning environment. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one online tutoring sessions in Microsoft Excel, covering a range of topics from beginner to advanced.
- Help students understand Excel functions, formulas, pivot tables, charts, data validation, and VBA basics.
- Review student work, provide constructive feedback, and guide them through problem-solving.
- Adapt teaching methods and explanations to suit diverse learning styles and proficiency levels.
- Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor during all tutoring interactions.
- Utilize Chegg's online platform efficiently for scheduling, communication, and session delivery.
- Stay updated on current Excel features and best practices to ensure high-quality instruction.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (all versions).
- Strong understanding of Excel formulas, functions, data manipulation, and visualization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with other data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Google Sheets, SQL, Python).
