Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team, serving our local suburban routes. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe delivery and pickup of packages, providing essential support to our customers and business operations. As a UPS Route Driver, you will be the face of our company, interacting with customers daily and upholding our commitment to excellent service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and UPS safety protocols.
- Deliver and pick up packages in a timely and professional manner along an assigned route.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Scan packages and maintain accurate delivery records using handheld devices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues courteously.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and schedules to meet service commitments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no moving violations or accidents within the last 3 years).
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in basic smartphone or handheld device operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a similar role.
- Knowledge of the Longmont, CO area and surrounding suburbs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
