Job Description
Are you passionate about safety and eager to teach? UPS is seeking dedicated individuals for our Forklift Instructor – Trainee Program in Westminster, Colorado. This entry-level position is designed for highly motivated candidates with little to no prior experience in forklift instruction. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a certified UPS Forklift Instructor. You will learn the intricacies of forklift operation, safety protocols, and effective training methodologies, playing a vital role in ensuring our operational teams are skilled and safe. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all required instructor training and certification programs.
- Master UPS's internal forklift operation standards and safety procedures.
- Learn to conduct engaging and effective classroom and practical training sessions for forklift operators.
- Assist senior instructors in demonstrating proper forklift handling, maintenance checks, and safety regulations.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to trainees under supervision.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of training materials and programs.
- Maintain accurate records of trainee progress and certifications.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and promote a culture of safety among all personnel.
Required Skills
- Strong commitment to safety principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new procedures and technologies.
- High degree of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and presentations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks associated with forklift operations for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery.
- Experience in a training or teaching capacity (formal or informal).
- Certification in first aid or CPR.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to powered industrial trucks.
