Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Tour Bus Operators to join our team, focusing on tours to and from various National Parks. As a Tour Bus Operator, you will be responsible for safely transporting guests, providing engaging commentary, and ensuring an unforgettable experience. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial passenger bus over various terrains and weather conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide clear, engaging, and informative commentary about the national parks, local history, and points of interest.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers, assisting with boarding, disembarking, and luggage as needed.
- Maintain a clean and tidy bus interior throughout the tour.
- Handle passenger inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally and courteously.
- Adhere to strict schedules while prioritizing safety and guest experience.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including logbooks, passenger counts, and incident reports.
Required Skills
- Valid Class B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement and airbrake restriction removed.
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and passenger comfort.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a tour guide or bus operator in a national park or tourism setting.
- Knowledge of national park regulations and environmental stewardship.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor roadside issues.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Geographical knowledge of Oregon and surrounding states' national parks.
