Job Description
Ochsner Health System is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Student Data Clerk with a strong focus on typing and records management. This part-time position is ideal for a student looking to gain valuable administrative experience within a large healthcare system. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate data entry, organizing and maintaining patient records, and supporting various administrative tasks. This role requires excellent typing speed and accuracy, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to confidentiality. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input and update patient and operational data into various electronic systems.
- Organize, classify, and maintain physical and digital records in compliance with established procedures.
- Perform high-volume data entry tasks with precision and efficiency.
- Assist in auditing records for completeness and accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Scan, file, and retrieve documents as needed, ensuring proper categorization.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations and Ochsner policies.
- Provide general administrative support to the department, including preparing documents and reports.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure data consistency and integrity.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university.
- Proven typing speed of at least 50 WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or office environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or healthcare data systems.
- Experience with record keeping and document management systems.
