Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Site Labourer to join our growing team in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the construction industry. As a Site Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting various site operations, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Full safety gear will be provided to ensure your well-being on site. No prior experience is required, though a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organised construction site, including clearing debris, waste, and excess materials.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., bricklayers, carpenters, electricians) with their tasks, carrying materials and tools.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barriers under supervision.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively after appropriate training.
- Adhere strictly to all site health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions to the site manager immediately.
- Perform general manual labour tasks as required to support project progress.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles (training will be provided).
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
- Previous experience working on a construction site.
- Basic First Aid certification.
