Job Description

As a Policy Analyst at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a crucial role in shaping policy recommendations and strategies for our clients, primarily within the public sector. You will conduct in-depth research, analyze complex data sets, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable policy briefs and presentations. This position requires a strong understanding of policy development processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. You will contribute to projects that address critical national challenges, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on various policy issues, trends, and regulations.
  • Develop detailed policy briefs, reports, and presentations for clients and senior leadership.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of proposed policies and existing programs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate policy insights into broader strategic recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and client personnel to gather information and build consensus.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to client objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and support to clients on policy implementation and evaluation.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development activities related to policy analysis.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in policy research, analysis, or development.
  • Proven ability to conduct rigorous qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with government agencies or in a consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with specific policy areas (e.g., national security, healthcare, environmental policy, technology policy).
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS).
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
