Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Shopify Theme Developer to join our remote team. This role is crucial for crafting engaging and high-performing e-commerce experiences for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Shopify themes, ensuring they are responsive, user-friendly, and optimized for conversion. A strong understanding of Shopify’s Liquid templating language, front-end web technologies, and a keen eye for design are essential. This is a 100% remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and sections from design mockups.
  • Customize existing Shopify themes to meet specific client requirements.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and optimal performance of themes.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
  • Integrate third-party applications and APIs with Shopify stores.
  • Perform theme debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with Shopify's evolving platform features and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in Shopify's Liquid templating language.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with modern front-end build tools (e.g., Gulp, Webpack).
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Proven ability to develop responsive and accessible web interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shopify Plus development.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and best practices.
  • Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce).
  • Previous experience in a creative agency environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
